Two corrections to your article.
1) Most tourists do not need a visa to visit Uzbekistan: 90+ nationalities, including all EU countries, UK, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand, can visit Uzbekistan visa-free. Most other nationalities are eligible for an evisa ($20) which you apply for online, without going to an Uzbek Embassy.
2) Public transportation in Uzbekistan is good. In particular, there is a high speed electric train (bullet train) linking Tashkent, Samarkand, and Bukhara. Other cities are linked with regular diesel trains.
