NEW YORK, NY — Summer trips can get expensive fast as fares and hotel rates rise in peak season, but a range of limited-time promotions is aimed at helping travelers lower the bill. The offers cover cruises, resorts, flights, tours, car rentals and rail trips, with several tied to U.S. destinations and summer booking windows.
Many of the steepest discounts require flexibility on dates, advance booking or membership in a loyalty program. Others are built around America 250 promotions, long-stay packages or bundled travel-and-hotel deals.
Cruise lines are offering some of the biggest percentage discounts
Virgin Voyages is offering a free balcony upgrade and 70% off a second sailor on select sailings booked by July 31, 2026, with travel available through 2028. The promotion includes itineraries in Europe and a 12-night solar eclipse cruise from Barcelona to Rome in August.
MSC Cruises is advertising up to 40% off sailings worldwide and on cruises departing from the U.S., plus a kids-sail-free offer tied to America 250. Celebrity Cruises is promoting up to 75% off a second guest’s fare, along with extra savings on select sailings.
Royal Caribbean is also running a stacked sale that includes 60% off a second guest with code BOGO60, free sailing for some children and third or fourth guests on eligible trips, plus additional discounts on select itineraries.
Hotel offers focus on U.S. stays in Miami, New York and Key West
Several hotel promotions are centered on domestic getaways. The Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables, Florida, has a package tied to America’s 250th anniversary with rates starting at $250 per night for stays through September 30.
In New York, World of Hyatt members can save up to 25% at The Beekman in Lower Manhattan when booking by June 30, 2026, for stays through September 30. In Key West, Hilton’s The Reach is offering up to 20% off plus a $50 daily resort credit on stays of three nights or more, with booking open through August 31.
Iberostar’s two Miami hotels are also discounting stays by up to 45%, with an added 10% off superior rooms and free stays for the first two children in some family bookings. Rosewood Baha Mar in the Bahamas is offering a fourth night free, a $100 daily resort credit on qualifying four-night stays and extra perks on suite bookings.
Air, rail, tour and rental car discounts round out the summer savings
Travelers looking beyond hotels can also find discounts on flights and road trips. Southwest Airlines and MGM Resorts are bundling trips with savings of up to $250 per reservation for domestic travel and up to $500 for some international bookings. JetBlue Vacations is advertising up to $300 off flight-and-hotel packages, with extra promo codes for larger bookings.
On the rail side, Amtrak Vacations is offering up to $150 off per duo on seven-night-or-longer trips, including Route 66 and national parks itineraries. Grand Canyon Railway and Hotel packages are currently 25% off and include lodging, meals and train travel through the Southwest.
For shorter trips, Priceline has rental car and package discounts, Hertz is offering up to 25% off base rates in the U.S. and Canada, and Booking.com, Hilton and Viator are all running separate promotions on stays, tours and experiences.
Many offers have short booking windows and strict terms
Most of the deals come with conditions that travelers need to check closely. Some require prepaid, nonrefundable bookings; others apply only on certain days of the week, to select properties or to loyalty members.
The common thread is timing. For travelers willing to compare routes, dates and package options, the current wave of sales may offer a way to keep summer travel plans within reach without paying full peak-season prices.
