Turkey is all set to welcome tourists from January 2022

I have visited Turkey as part of a FAM trip and found it very amazing visiting some of the offbeat places in Turkey. And I had planned to visit the same once again starting in early 2022. But coronavirus played spoilsport to my plans and I was looking through some articles and stumbled upon the article where Turkey is all set to welcome tourists from January.

Turkey with a programme of ‘Safe Tourism Certificate’ is planning to welcome tourists starting January.  This plan covers every aspect of a journey which includes airport, transfers and hotel. Starting January 1 airlines, tour operators and other marketplaces will start selling health certificate and as a gesture for health workers, the flagship airline of Turkey is offering 40% discount for travellers from around the world.

With the programme, Turkey is making sure that there are strict health, safety and hygiene practice in all airlines, tour and transfer vehicles, restaurants and places of accommodation.  The 132 criteria have to be met by hotel and restaurants and also a separate section on the properties should be kept for any patients who test positive for SARS-COV-2.

Also, these establishments can apply for verification to authorized international accreditation which will be displayed in the official website of Turkey Tourism. It also includes the list of accommodation places, travel operators, tour vehicles etc which would help the tourists to visit the beautiful place of Turkey.

Every Tourist will be screened at Major airports of Turkey. “Their body temperatures will be measured. If there is a suspicion, tourists will be taken for a PCR test,” The ministry said

Health insurance is available everywhere, tourists will be available to purchase insurance through airlines, hotels, operators and sales points set up at airports.  The insurance packages start as little as Rs 1,300 to Rs 2000.

As a token of appreciation to health workers from around the globe, Turkey’s flagship airline, Turkey Airlines is offering a 40% discount on all tickets they purchase via their website and app. However, the tickets should be purchased between June 6th to August 2021 and the validity of travel is from 6 January 2022 to 31 Dec 2022.
