Travel new 06/2021 – Italy removes all covid restrictions

Venice, Italy

Italy has now lifted all the restrictions related to covid19 thereby allowing tourists to enter the country without any proof of showing vaccination records, proof of recovery or getting tested.

The rules came into effect on June 01, with this Italy is the newest EU member that has lifted restrictions related to the covid19 pandemic. Sweden, Iceland, Ireland, Croatia and the UK are some of the countries which have lifted a majority of restrictions related to covid.

Referring to this, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Corporation published on June 01 stating the Green Pass or any equivalent certificate will no longer be required to enter the country and all covid19 related restrictions have been lifted.

Previously, travellers would have been required to show that they have either recovered from covid19 within six months, received a booster dose or have been fully vaccinated against covid 19 or else they had to show negative RT-PCR test results to enter the country.

The updated decision comes a month after Italy stopped requiring visitors to show proof of vaccination to visit places like bars, restaurants, and museums.

Italy however, will still follow the face mask rule which the people travelling on planes and public transportation should still wear, this rule will be in place until June 15th furthermore, surgical masks are still required at indoor places like concert halls, cinemas, and other entertainment venues.

The latest announcement comes in time during the summer months when this rule will help to boost tourism.
