The Island Trail, a steep 1-mile trek, took us on a journey of 185 vertical feet into the heart of the canyon, where ancient cliff dwellings awaited us. The trail was not for the faint of heart, but we were up for the challenge. The staircase comprised 273 steps, accompanied by an additional 190 stair steps dispersed throughout the loop trail. While some sections were equipped with railings, many portions required careful navigation.

Despite the physical demands, we fell in love with the trail almost instantly. We embraced the challenge, knowing that the reward would be worth every step. Taking our time, we paced ourselves, ensuring that we could savor the experience and appreciate the surroundings.
