It’s not usually that one will get to go to a typical village in a unique nation, so whereas visiting Lucerne when a pal invited to his village of Safenwil, we have been greater than delighted.

We reached Safenwil on a wet, sleepy day, and simply positioned our pal. It was already lunch time and we have been famished from the morning walks within the meadows round Lucerne. So the pal and the restaurant workers helped us select a menu as Swiss as potential.
After lunch we headed out to the woods behind the village. Though it was chilly and drizzling, the thick cover within the forest enabled us to maintain strolling till we reached a small synthetic canopied clearing, full with a picnic desk. The encircling pure rocks have outdated carvings, maybe from the period of the world wars…
Our small half a day journey to Safenwil was coming to an finish as we had a protracted drive forward to Paris. Bidding goodbye to our pal, we moved on, with the decision to come back again to Switzerland with extra time.
