Travel news 08/2022 – China’s futuristic ‘air train’ leviates through the air 33 ft above the ground!

China train

Also known as the Red Rail, this 2600 ft experimental track, is set in Xingguo county, Jiangxi province, in China. The pictures of the sky train are going viral on social media. The train uses strong magnets to produce a non-stop repelling force strong enough to lift a train into the air. The train has the capacity to carry 88 passengers.

China is once again in the news and this time for its futuristic maglev trains. These high-speed trains run on electromagnets over tracks. Recently, the country launched its first suspended maglev line that is built with permanent magnets.

The levitating rail operates about 33 ft above the ground and there’s absolutely no physical contact with the rail as the train moves beneath it silently at speeds of up to 50 mph. As per reports, the track creates less electromagnetic radiation than traditional lines and is also a lot cheaper to build.

This technological success was also possible because China is flooded with an abundance of rare earth elements required to make permanent magnets used in the trains. For those who don’t know, China has almost 40 percent of the whole world’s known reserves of rare earth elements and it also mines these metals more than any other nation in the world.
