Budget airline Vietjet Air has launched daily flights to Busan, South Korea’s second largest city, from Ho Chi Minh city, Hanoi, Nha Trang, and Da Nang as tourism revival continues.
Nguyen Thanh Son, deputy chairman of Vietjet, said Vietnam targets five million foreign tourists this year and the new services would help boost South Korean visitor numbers. The East Asian country has sent the highest number of visitors to Vietnam post-Covid.
On March 15 the government allowed quarantine-free entry and resumed its visa waiver for citizens of 24 countries, including South Korea. In 2019, the year before Covid broke out, over 550,000 Koreans visited Vietnam.
Vietjet also flies daily to the South Korean capital Seoul from HCMC, Hanoi, Da Nang, Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, and Hai Phong.
